How to cast armor spells?!

Me and my friend is playing multiplayer. He is playing Nature Magic and I am Combat Magic. We have both found two armor spells, his spell is called magic armor or something and i have spirit armor, but the ting is, we don't know how to cast them?! It says "To cast, click on a target", but theres no "magic sword icon" when we try to use it on each other!?
It would be great if anyone of you guys could tell me how to use the spells! Plz

Welcome to the forums.

It's been a looooooooong time since I've played DS but I'll try to help.

I think you have to right click on the scroll and then on the target. If that doesnt work try to put it in your spell book (I'm pretty sure there is a spellbook) and then select it so its icon is showing in the upper left (where your character info is at).

I'm sorry this has to be so vague but I don't feel like installing the game to find out.

That works with all the other spells but not on this particular one... That's what's disturbing me... You don't have to install it again if you don't want to but thanks for replying!

Then it might be because your skill points in that field of casting just aren't high enough (I think). Usually (assuming I remember correctly) it shows the level of skill you need to cast it.

I am meeting both the minimum level and mana cost, but maybe it is because i have items that grant me combat magic skill I don't know... Well if you get an idea plz post it

BTW I've searched the web and I've found out that it's a buffering spell, which I don't know what it means :/

My oldest computer had it installed so I tryed to run it.

1st try: Freeze

2nd try: Fatal Error

So I realized I didn't have anything better to do at 6:30 am and I'm installing it on my good comp right now. If you're playing online I could possibly join you for a while.

Ok, well I tryed the spell and all I needed to do was set it as my active spell and then right click on myself. I'm going to assume you also need to right click on any other party member you want to cast it on.

Maybe it is working but you just dont see the spell effects? That's not very likely but it might be a possibility.

I'm glad to be of help even if it wasn't of much use.

I don't even get the sword with magic around it when i am holding it over my character or any character... Baaah I don't know, maybe I shall see if there are better shield magics that works. This one is not so good, but I just want it to work

Well i shouldn't bother you anymore, It'll probably work sooner or later. Thx a lot.

It turns out I had a magic armor that added extra armor and surrounded me with some strange light. Anyway, I could use it once I removed that armor!
Weeee so now it works

Buffering spells:

ie Magic Armor cost 20 mana & last 60 secs (i made up this figures)

you can cast it multiple times on yourself, so the time the spell is on you is longer ... ie 2x casting = 120 secs, 3x casting = 180 secs etc
