I hope that the Kingdom hasnt fallen apart.
If it has i shall defend the king with my life!
I hope there will be old friends especially Diego, he is one of my favourite characters. I would like to have Gorn by my side too.
"You will not lose ALL of your skills" What does that mean? Bah! The part i most enjoyed in Gothic was the beginning when i was all weak and had to avoid enemies and stay in settlements.
The water in the desert has to be in the game. I want a RPG where you will HAVE to eat and drink or else dehydrate or lose strength temporarily.
You will meet some of the old friends, PB already said.
About the skill thing, you will probably still be weak, after you want to build your character, but you won't be killed by a young wolf. I still don't think you'll be able to take on orcs and shadowbeasts. And maybe there will be much more powerful enemies on the mainland.
I really hope that you will be as weak iat the beginning of G3, as you were at the beginning of G1 and G2. If you won`t be then there isn`t the "joy" , the fun of developing yourself from 0 to 999999 .It`s tupid that some gamers want to be as strong at the beginning of G3, as strong they were at thend of G2. Then you won`t have much to do, just slay everything and everyone that stands in you`r way. I don`t see the fun in that. In NotR at the Ice Dragon`s lair, I ran around most of the enemies because those ice wolfs were tough as h*ll...after I gained some more expirience, I went back and gave them a taste of Beliar`s Claw _________________ But one thing is certain: we shall meet again! |

i have to say i dont like the what i have seen.
The arabic desert settings ..im not attracked to that at all
for me RPGs are medieval/fantansy ..except for some rpg set in the futur like deus ex wich i loved
personnaly im looking foward to oblivion a lot more..
I just think that the setting should follow G1 and 2. To go from medieval and jump into a arabic desert.... isnt it in a completly different time set???
Maybe they'll work somthing into the story and maybe it will be awesome but there seem to be a lot of confusion with all the different publisehr from the different country and all ... just look at the mess with the american add on .....
Im not putting much hope in that game but if it turns out great then good but i wont wait for that game espacially.
Its too far away and oblivion just look so much more promising _________________ ---------------------------------------------------------

The publishers have not much to do with actual game development. _________________ Jaz |

@ wacko3 And why can't PB make an medieval/fantasy arabic desert setting?
i think the word crusades is all i have to say about this, i would love to see swords&sorcsery in a small oasis under the blue sky or something like that. And think of the new undead units they can introduce i Hate undead in gothic, theyīre far too strong. and thats why i like them |

Well, I think it may be that new arabic theme will really suit to the game. And as far as I know PB, they will mix deferents themes (arabic with medievil fantasy) verry well.If you remember, the sect camp in g1 also isn't a tipical (atleast not to me) theme for mediveil fantasy, but still, it added to the filling of a game a lot. So I'm sure PB will do a great job mixing various themes in g3.
Also, I think it's a bit early to make any conlusion right now, there's not enough info at the moment. |

When will we see some in game pictures? We`ve seen so many from Oblivion Lost, but from G3...nothing. It`s pretty annoying. PB!!! WAKE UP AND GIVE US SOME IN GAME PICTURES!!! _________________ But one thing is certain: we shall meet again! |

I've read something on the german board about this and it does make sense. First of all the german version of G2 was released end November 2002, the website came online in May that year.
That's just a sidenote. What I'm trying to say: There are a lot of games from massive developers and publishers that get loads of attention, tv commercials etc and in the end they alll can cope with our expectations. While games that get released silently are considered the best most of the time.
Do you want to get the entire story spoiled? Do you want to know the available armors a year prior to the release? I don't! I admit that I never play a game without being informed about it intensively, but we all know already that G3 will be great, because it will be the bigger and better brother of G2 and G2 was already great.
Do we really want to be bombarded with all kinds of ingame footage already? It will only make us inpatient, because it might take another year before we can lay our hands on it. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

The two reasons why we donīt see much new material now are quite obvious:
1. PB is only the dev. They get their asses kicked by JoWooD if they donīt keep their mouth shut.
2. JoWooD pays the bills and is responsible for the marketing. They have a marketing plan to maximize the hype at release time. G3 is expected to top the charts in the German market. Everything else would be unsatisfying. New material _only_ gets released when this plan says so. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Aargh, why.. why...
For once it seemed we would be playing G3 in the same year as Germany. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

The feeling similars to the one of the movies of the Lord of the Rings ...
Is that possible to exist in GIII, or its successors?

I'm hoping to play it summer 2006. Anything else just isn't realistic. All gothic titles so far have extended their initial release date(English verions more than German) and so will G3.
Regarding Oblivian. I have seen about as many pictures from that as I have from G3, and it's the same over and over. One dungeon, back of a crusader, some forest and a few others. Don't expect to see anymore untill right before the release, just like with G3.
You have to remember how far into the future G3 really is. The whole "official facts" thing regarding G3 is just a farse. There are no official facts - PB could change it today, tomorrow, in a week or in a month. There are certain points of their progress that has been locked by now(always is when you are doing software development, you lock stages as you complete them), but most programming can still be changed even now.
Enough rambling. I'm very much looking forward to it, and hope to see it asap. That's all I want to say for now. |

Probably April of May. Every good games that was supposed to be released end February this year has been postponed until the end of April.
Better postponing it now when we don't know anything about it yet and we're still playing other games, than a few weeks before the release. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Indeed, I also dont like some of the new features in Gothic 3. I think they should have kept the same features like in G1 and G2. But who knows, perhaps it's better then it looks like. Oblivion indeed looks more promising. |

Good golly miss molly, I can't wait.
What is everybody thinkin about minimum specs. (don't start a massive spec war on my behalf) just a ball park quesstimate will suffice.
I am considering an upgrade, but my money tree didn't survive the winter so I have to plant a new one.
