If I remember correctly, the game was more of an adventure than a role-playing game. It was quite nice, with a good atmosphere, pretty graphics for its time and soundtrack from David Bowie Quite good sci-fi setting and a interesting plot.
But the fights were terrible. I tried to play it, but all the nice things in the adventure mode just got wasted with the crappy shooter-imitation and fighting scenes. Never finished it, got too frustrated about the serious gap between these modes. I think that if you can find a cheat to become immortal or something like that, the game will be good. Without it, the fights will just make you frustrated. I remember playing half-life at the same time. The difference was overwhelming... _________________ "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance."

I loved this game - I became little David Bowie's fan because of this game. Anyway, game has very nice story and nice graphics. You can buy books and cassettes and listen to them at home. You can learn few things form books. Etc.
True, fps mode (few missions) are not developed very well, but still playable, On the other side, beat'em up mode is made very well.
But it's the story you get the game for. And this one is great. Plus large futuristic cities and some good puzzles. Definitely worth few bucks. _________________ --=Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=--

Omikron was pretty cool, but yes, the gun battles were an embarassing mistake. I too didn't finish this one, but that's only because when I upgraded my mobo, the visuals stopped functioning correctly, ad I was too far along to want to start over. If you play, be sure to download the naked patch before you visit the Red light district, if not before you play at all. |

Absolutely grab this game if you can get it in a bargain bin. It's not completely successful, but you'll admire the sheer wild ambition of the game. It's one of the few games I've played that actually attempts to break the "fourth wall" (to use a theater term) between the gamer and the game. You're actually playing YOURSELF.
The graphics are beautiful, the world really feels populated, and the story is big. It's not a perfect game, but I was really glad I played it. |
