Hobbies

What kind of hobbies do you have? Ever made your own bow? A gun? Sword? I'm interested in hearing what people from the Dot do in their spare time (besides play video games). So, tell us what you've done/made/blown up/explored/discovered/invented. Share anything and everything from your worst experiences to your greatest successes.

Beyond watch anime and science fiction movies?

I'm a bodybuilder. That's not so much a hobby as a lifestyle... but it consumes a lot of spare time.

I used to write a lot.

I like anything remote control or model rocketry, though most my toys are sitting with an inch of dust on them. Hobbies, hmm, well.... gaming? ='.'=

I did do some offroad type quad type stuff for a while, but it just got too expensive, and far too physical for me. I like to relax on the weekends, not push/pull/drag/lift a quad all day long. Then, theres the possibility of paralyzation and other wonderful things that come along with being thrown, run into, rode off, tipped over. Maybe Im just getting old, but it just aint worth it anymore.

well I read a lot, and before school started I usually do hikes around the desert, you'll never seen stars like that anywhere else, I'm talking breath taking.
I also play Chaos Marines In Warhammer 40k.
that's it pretty much, but since school I don't have free time anymore I'm tempted to write doing physics problems

Hmmmm, well, I seem to spend more time reading about computer games on the web than I do actually playing them! I guess there's nothing that really grabs me at the moment, and I'm looking for my next good fix. So, aside from playing computer games, my time is spent:

Socialising takes a good chunk of time. Usually eating/drinking with friends. Occasional gig. Maybe head to the cinema.

Tae Kwon Do is probably the second consumer. I try to go a few times a week, and spar now and again.

Programming. I'm currently remaking the Spectrum game Chaos, which I've nearly finished. After that I'm hoping to start on the a rogue-like.

Guitar has been put on the back-burner the last few months, but it will always be a part of my life. I've been playing on and off for a good few years.

Surfing. I don't get to go as often as I like, but I do enjoy it. I want to try snowboarding this winter too.

Right, that's enough...

I like to write and record music, and play guitar and piano. Enjoy playing tennis when it's not raining, as it seems it is half o' the year here in the Northwest (of the United States). Web design is geekoriffic. I'm a movie nerd. Reading is fun (just got done with the sixth Harry Potter - it RULES).

With work and college, it's hard to find time for the hobbies. But I do it when I can.

On dark evenings, I like to take my night-vision goggles, needlework kit and chloroform-soaked mop over to the zoo, and sew live animals together into a big lovely ball. The noise it makes when it wakes up is different every time.

I'm so sorry, that's not true at all. I just made it up so you'd all think I was a dashing go-getter, but I'm.... not!
OK, gaming - that's a given. I am also an immense film bore with a particular love of Japanese films, and now that I work at home my movie collection and viewing habits have bloated to rather unhealthy proportions - hopefully my own physical girth will not follow suit. I like to draw (a hobby I soon hope to turn into a profession, if I only knew how/where to begin :? )... and I used to dabble in animation and various amatuer game-, film- and music-making endeavors, but those things have kind of taken a backseat recently. I have still had no luck finding an archery club that I can get to, but this is one hobby I am determined to get off the ground.
