A bit off-topic, but I'd say it's closer to topic than all this racism nonsense and venom. Anyway...
@cecirdr: MM6 will run in a WinXP environment. I don't remember what sort of configuration contortions I had to do, but it can be done. Don't give up, cuz it's a wonderful game to replay. I prefer MM7 because of the deeper character development, but MM6 is a huge romp.

Racism is most certainly nonsense, but it's the kind of nonsense that kills innocent life. Try calling telling that to the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust that racism is nothing more than a bunch of 'nonsense'.

The morons have at RPGCodex have seemingly done the impossible. They've actually made Cleve Blakemore into a sympathetic figure. Anyone attracting the obsessive wrath of a narcissistic blowhard like this Exitum/Sol idiot has got my support pretty much by default. Exitum, you idiot, just please keep away from Derek Smart. I'd rather keep despising that fool, but if you get after him I think I may have no choice but to buy his crappy games. |

The money he gets from Grimoire goes to supporting extremist organizations like Stormfront, so it doesn't really matter that Grimoire itself might not contain any racist material, does it? If Osama Bin Laden made a carebears game and all the money went to funding the Al Qaeda, it wouldn't matter that the game itself was harmless, would it? Idiot.

There's a little logical fallacy called Poisoning the Well; you just comitted it!! If I said all the adverts at the Codex went to support Gay Rights, would that make it true?????????? You're doing the same thing to Cleve. Leave personalities OUT of the equation. When the game is released, criticise it then if you wish, but as a game, not as some sort of statement. Till then, stop displaying your ignorance so publicly. Empty vessels make the most sound!!

A few of the codex guys generally jump into any thread about Grimoire or Cleve and start using foul language. It is their hope, I guess, to have any threads about Grimoire closed. I dislike Cleve personally too. He's a wacko that needs to take some reality pills. That said, I think that he has probably made a pretty fun game from what we're hearing from Corwin and Dteowner. If Grimoire is decent then Cleve will have done more to promote my favorite genre than anyone over at the codex. BTW I like the codexers. I just think they're off-base when it comes to posting trash on other forums. Rendelius is probably going to have to ban them and stop allowing guest posts if it keeps up. That'd suck, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

You know, I didnt even know about this game until all you skittering little ninnies started screeching and whining about it's maker speaking outside your speech codes. Now, Im gonna buy the infamous Grimoire when it hits, just to see what all the hoo-rah is about. Yeah, he's a wacko, so what, he has no power over anything or anyone. Its a game. He only has the power you people give him, by letting him get you all crazy and frothing at the mouth over him every time a game that he has made is mentioned. And by doing so, he's made you just as bent as he, attacking good and decent people like Corwin and the like is just gross, quite frankly, and you know it.
I know alot of game devs and people in the game industry have political views that I dont agree with, some I might even find offensive. Some even put these views in the games themselves, but you know what, it's a game. They can have the NPC vote as far as Im concerned. |

As Corwin pointed out, you have no facts to support your theory. I haven't reviewed Cleve's checkbook recently, and neither have you. But just for grins, let's say you're right about a few things. You've already stated (based on no knowledge) that Grimoire is both crap and vaporware. If it's vaporware, it can't make a single dollar. If it's crap, it won't sell many copies and will fail to cover its development costs. See, you really ought to be supporting the game development--Cleve is spending his disposable income on the game instead of sending care packages to the Commies or whatever it is you're accusing him of doing.

Dteowner vs Sol - 1:0.
Well said Dteowner. Sol really should think about the inner logic of his posts, before trying to argue several opposite sides at once. Of course, from reading Sol's posts at Codex (where I am lurking time to time), he seem to be under strong impression that whoever can type insults faster wins regardless of merit or logic of his arguments... 
As for the Grimoire - Cleve may be an asshole for all I know, and some of his posts are way too extreme to my tastes. He also seem to be very arrogant, reminding me of DS.
Nevertheless, Grimoire might as well turn out to be as good (or almost as good) as Wizardry 7, based upon what I know and comments by Corwin and Dteowner. If this happens, I am definetly going to buy this game. And if Cleve will use my money to construct another fallout bunker for himself - it is totally fine with me. 
As for Sol and others who share his sentiments - they can bite their fingers as much as they want. The more they scream and rage the more free publicity they will create for Cleve's game.
That being said, Grimoire can still turn out to be disaster for all I know. We will just have to wait and see. Dixi.
