Signature Restrictions

After several debates over the last year we have come to a set of new restrictions for signatures. Here they are:

The height of the signature shall not exceed the height as represented by 5 lines of normal sized text. This area can be made up out of text, images or a combination of them.

The total size of all images in the signature should not exceed 3600 pixels. In the case of multiple images the size of each individual image is added together and the total number of those pixels should not exceed 3600.

Animated images are only acceptable as long as 'they do not distract too much', which is determined by the moderators/admins and the number of complaints received. Only one animated image is allowed in a signature.

Signatures are subject to the same conditions as described in the section 'Rules for Posting' of this FAQ.

In case of doubt the moderators will make a judgement call about the issue.

The above text is the same as can be found in the FAQ from now on. There are several reasons for all this and most of them can be found here and there in different threads.

Please make your changes if applicable in the next few days.

I wouldn't know what they mean. If someone convinces me that the text is against what is described in the FAQ then it isn't allowed. Otherwise you can put in it as you see fit.

I see a bunch of squares in your sig, Pikkon.

I guess it's time to wave ye ole Jolly Roger bye bye then...

Edith says I just might make it, but perhaps it's not for us to judge.

Why? It's close enough to stay within the limits.

I also support it. I have seen other boards that due to signatures that go on for days, it takes forever to read the threads. It is a waste of my time and board space. Good idea.

I think the new restriction is great. I'd put something about supporting it in my signature... oh wait, I don't have one!

I, too, am all for this rule!

Although I'll miss Pinnen's flag if he kills it.

Since Myrthos has given his approval, I'll keep my flag for now. Unless someone else finds it too disturbing.

I also think the new rules are good rules, even though RPGDots forum isn't as plagued with oversized sigs as others I've seen.
