Pumping up XP b4 Joining a camp

I've been accepted for membership in the 3 camps.
I'm 9th level, with 30 skill points available.
I'm considering the Old Camp, and then joining the New Camp when the option is available.

Should I search for more EXP befor Joining the OC, or is 9'th LVL with a SC Loin Cloth (that hardly protects me), and 30 SKILL POINTS a reasonable time to Join?

I could go around hunting local monsters forever, if it really made a difference, but I guess I'm looking for greater rewards.

Thanks 4 any replies!

If you do all join camp quests and kill all the animals between the camp you'll have a higher level than 5. I always have level 6,7 or 8 when I join a camp.

Yes it's fun. I've done it lately, and even the Shadowbeasts just took one hit, I think.

If your at level 9 your ahead of what you should be when you join a camp (Level 5) So your doing good You should join a camp now and start getting into the main story quests cause those are where you earn lots of XP and rewards

My most recent game I was level 13 when I joined a camp. It gave me an annoying problem at the beginning of chapter 2, so Level 9 is probably ideal.

Joining a camp at level 13 would be a great start . What was the problem?

The thread I posted earlier :

http://www.rpgdot.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24562

In short, the novice with the focus stone took one look at my level 13 badass self, had to change his loincloth, and took off like a shot.

if u already have ur weapon out he will run if u can get right up to him before u draw and he has to talk to u he'll make the first move and u can just kick his ass, i dont kill them thou , its like baal lukor i think he's the one that goes into the orc sem and u go to help out, i open the secret door go inside get the sword then let him in, walk with him till he attacks then i knock him out go and close the door just in time to see him running around like a chicken with its head cuff off

Actually, on a reload (I hated that he got eaten by wolves) I found that if I approached with my weapon drawn he pulled his and gave the whole 'Put the weapon away!' spiel. I kicked his ass, took the focus, waited for him to get up and THEN put the weapon away and listened to his surfer dude impression.

He then took off, but with 1 hit point he didn't make it far... I flying drop kicked him before he got 10 steps.
