Just take the thing you want to pick up in focus and press [CTRL]+[ARROW UP].
Then watch your inventory |

And make sure that you aren't in combat mode. I dunno if this is true for the english demo as well, but as soon as an object is highlighted and you see its name on the screen, you can pick it up.

Couldn't have made it more confusing, I guess doing it for a while will get me used to it.
Now all I need is a computer that can run it without all the detail settings set low, and I'll be playing it all day long |

Yes, controls take a while to get used to, but once mastered, it's way faster than mouse controls (just like the old Norton Commanbder was so much faster to handle than Windows Desktops today)

I agree with Garrett about the controls & Norton Commander, and maybe even about Windows Commander ?
@Azareal: Maybe you want to start a Hardware thread? On a mediocre machine you should be able to run it @1024 or more, all maxed out.

Athlon 1300 and 512 MB RAM with a Geforce 2MX 64 MB, full details, 1280x1024 - this is sooooooo delicious
But you are right, my P2 350 with 256MB and a first generation Geforce was able to run it decently with full detail in 800x600 - some hickups, but only few...
