No. You´re in the linear part of the game. All camps lead to the same story and ending.

the story never changes when you join a camp. But the armor yes! Try to find out how to take all the armor of your camp...

But you can't get the Ore Baron and the Guru's armors, unless you cheat.

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate?

i know, i thought it would be open ended, but... its not... but thats still cool because if you play it right... you can join the old camp, get fire spells, join the new camp, get water spells, the sect camp will just sell you their spells, and then you can join XARDAS THE NECRO WOOT! and with my mage that had master in 1 handed swords and 100 str i was an uber mage AND warrior... it was fun... but i still havent done chromanion.....

How about try to find all the items in the game. That would be somewhat entertaining.

You can buy spells from any camp no matter which camp you join. If you level high enough you can be uber mage, warrior and archer.

It seems that they were planning to make Gothic really open ended but than ran out of time and money.

I think it meant multiple ways of going to the ending (warrior vs mage).

There is also all-rounder too! Don't forget it.

That's not really a class. It's a mix of classes.

Well, in that case archer cannot really be a class either.

Of course Archers a class. What do you think bow skills, crossbow skills and dexterity is for.
