New patch and unofficial patch

Sceptic that I am, I truly did not believe that the "unofficial" patch would make such a difference to my FPS. However after seeing the thousands of people who had viewed the "unofficial patch" posting, I downloaded it and was an instant believer.

After just downloading the new European patch, I was gutted when I noticed a huge decrease in performance. So much so that I have gone back to the original set-up that I had.

Does anyone know how to make the new European patch run as quick as when the unofficial patch was released?

IS it worth while? I have the patch, and find its good. What is the FPS boost?

There certainly is a difference:

- 10 second pauses when I exit a building
- Significant drop in FPS both in built up areas, countryside and in buildings
- worst of all, the game staggers and stutters along - "big" pauses for no
apparent reason (not near a load spot etc)

Will get hard stats tonight when back from work and post 'em here

I use the US1.2 on my EU game and it runs just as smooth as cracked EU1.1. There is no SD in 1.2, so cracks wont do here.

No lie Bearish - I stopwatched it! On reflection - I think I'd screwed up my .exe file or installation somehow 'cos as per my next post - after uninstalling then re-installing again and patching up - FPS/performance was much better!

Patched the crack?

Binary patching the cracked version perhaps? I expect that would screw it up, although I'm impressed it still worked...
