Irrlicht

What exactly is this : Irrlicht?

I am assuming this is a German word for something, yes? Also, can it be killed and how?

I'm still goofing off in the demo but this little ball of light is bothering me. Hmmmm . . . Irrlicht = light mebbe?

I also 'smoked' a stalk of sump herb. Now that is what I expected to happen in Gothic with the weed. I felt like a stoner for a moment.

That light thing was my best friend.

It followed me everywhere and killed a Goblin Zombie for me!! It then disappeared though.
I think it died.

Hmmm. . . .I don't remember it killing anything, but my health decreased a bit after it 'zapped' me or something. Not sure.

Irrlicht = literally: stray light. It's a will-o-wisp and can be killed with magical weapons, but since it doesn't harm you (it didn't harm me, at least), why would you want to kill it?

Because it moves I think I didn't meet any will-o-wips how big they are? I already saw some blue lights but they were smaller then my characters fist.

irrlichts work is to disturb ur work by killing others cos if its with you and some orc or whoever else is attacking at you then its very difficult to target that orc it allways targets that irrlicht and also it zapped me onze a little bit so its a little bit dangerous also

It followed me. It also attacked the Orc with me but nothing else. I was attacked by bloodfly's and wargs and it did nothing. Also, it follows you wherever you go. I lead it all the way back to the town but it didn't go inside. The guy standing outside the back entrance started fighting it.
It also would play hit and run with me. It would hit me a few times and then run away, like it was playing with me. Then it would follow me where I went.

Just an oddity I needed more info on. I actually thought it was a questy thing.

I killed one by accident because it got involved in my battle with a horde of Ice Golems... hmmm... I think it was 90 XP but I may be absolutely wrong. I'll look it up later.

*Big Hugs to Zonkers*

Is that really you? LOL

Thanks for the info everyone! I was hoping for it to be a questy-thing. Now that I know there are more than one I'll decide for each what their fate will be. Kind of on a "hit-me-and-die" type of reasoning.

On a side note: I preordered G2 on Amazon/USA over the weekend. *happiness* It says available Jan. 28th.
