Is it just me or has site really been slow last few days. I haven't changed any of my settings. Seems to take forever for anything to load. I am using the DD skin. Don't see why the change to the fall layout would make a difference. Just curious.

No it isn't just you Cm,

It is quite obvious that upon the "handshaking" of this site that virus checking is taking place, which should take just a few seconds, however, when the site is busy, then the checking of viruses then has to be queued, then also this happens when changing pages, to be honest it get on my nerves, i am not an angry person but this slowness keep me from accessing the site less than i would if all was super-duper. We were told "ages" ago that all would be speeded-up "soon" but it isn't happening. I go on other sites/forums and do not have this problem.

Just what can we humble mortals do about this, will we get another reply of "all will be sorted out soon" ? - - ?

When we used to move to a new server (and we have done a few), we were in full control and could make things happen when we want them to happen.
Now we are moving to a server owned by Jolt and I don't have any control anymore. As such I don't know when the move will exactly take place.
The software has been moved, but the latetst version of the database not yet. That is something that should be done at the last possible moment.
We are all set to go and initiate the DNS transfer of the different sites to the new server when Jolt says we can do that.
We are waiting for that signal now....

Even when the server chugs a bit, we're still getting our money's worth, yes? Let us not lose sight of that in our desire for improvements.

That's for the info. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't developed a problem. The new server should solve the issue I guess. It just hadn't happened for such a long time I wasn't sure the problem wasn't on my end. Thanks again.

Now, i visit the site from day to day, not just taht it has become so slow, but some thing keeps coming up to me when i turn the pop-up blocker on, i now turn it off when getting into RPGDot, another thing, sth. about ActiveX control was showing to me weeks ago, so i changed RPGDot and made it a "Trusted Site!", Now it tells me, that the page may show bad things(i don't remember exactly)and it asks me if i wanna show it, i cleck Yes but with no Use, any thing to solve this problem without making my PC a host to all hackers.

Hmmm, I dunno. At me, the site has always loading for several minutes, and I am using the default skin for the main site, and I forgot which skin for the forum (however, the forum does't load as slow as the main site) so I haven't noticed any significant slowdowns lately.

It has happened!, i can feel it!, we are on the new server, there is a feeling of energy returning, that extra zest when logging-in, turning pages is becoming faster, - - - so some credit where it is due, maybe that little monkey-face malware hijack did some good after all, this speeding up of the site has taken some time to accomplish but i say a personal "thank you" to the whole dot & Jolt teamwork, effort is always rewarded, and as i believe, the best has yet to come after further pruning and streamlining.

I feel it too (for some time now), since I don't have to close the IE window every few minutes after logging in, wait for five minutes and then try entering RPGDot again. The site is so fast, so smooth! God bless you!

Not for me. The banners up top will not load and half the posts I make return a general error...
