Am I limited to single player only?

I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. I live in a rural area and my only option for broadband is Satellite. I am hesitant to get this type of connection because apparently the download speed is around 500k but the upload is a crappy 50k. I was wondering, does anyone know whether these kind of speeds would suffice for MMORPGs? I know they would probably suck for a fast paced game like Counterstrike of Unreal but could i play a game like Everquest or Dark Age without too much lag or trouble?

you shouldn't have a problem with mmorpgs

Your upload would be more than sufficient. My ISP used to give me 16k upload speeds versus 300k Download, and I had above average performances with MMORPGs. I switched to their "super" high speed service which gives me around 500k download and 78k upload speeds, and I hardly see any difference to be quite honest. I'm still way above average in performance, but upload speed isn't much of a factor on the user end of things.

With upload speeds of 16k per second, I could host locally 6 person games of FreeSpace 2 without any problems what-so-ever. So, being just a client should be a breeze.
