1-I'm already enlighted... More than you.
2-Do isn't completely wrong
3-You (and not only you) commit much worse mistakes!

Calm down, guys. It seems like you're almost having a fight here. Who cares? Why be such a purist? Just have your share of fun, huh?

Why be such a purist?
Why be such a purist?
WHY?? The man has the unmitigated audacity to ask WHY????

Why not?

Edited: Upon a casual re-read this post did not have the flippant tone I had intended! StAnthony - no malice intended!

As to the fight over grammar (is it really??), have fun. As long as we can understand the post the grammar is OK. Okay?

PS- I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use the cigar smilie! I just love that one *grin*

Some mistakes here and there doesn't bother me, but I get a better impression of a post if it's at least written in decent English, and not some kind of spoken language written down, not using commas and no care about the spelling.

OK, I bet you can find at least one grammar mistake in this post, but it's at least decent written.

Personally, I prefer a well-written post that is plain and understandable. Posts that are not just seem careless, unless they are just learning the language. If someone wants to be that careless with what they write, then why should I bother to read it? I get the impression sometimes that they don't care about what they are writing when I see a post that only mildly resembles English. Especially when I know the person writing it is capable of more.

Why make others want to ignore what you write? That's my opinion. *shrug*

Hear, hear! I enjoy putting effort into my posts. If I'm unsure of the spelling of a word, I'll look it up - it's really not hard to do and takes but a moment.

I find posts with lots of spelling errors, grammatical errors and plain bad formatting just really hard to read. The rules are there for a purpose, don't you know.

For me. people that care too much about rules are less fun next to no fun. I usually avoid them. I'm not saying that so that I should find an excuse for my deplorable English.
