What's Gamespot talking about?

I was reading GS first impression article and was wondering what the hell that guy was talking about. He said the main quest involved a plague that was sweeping the land. Well I've gotten as far as level 10 and have received and completed about 4 orders from the Spymaster. Nothing he gives me has anything to do with a plague. It's all about the lost house of the dark elves and a prophecy of a reborn god or something. Have I just not gotten far enough in the game, or am I missing something, or is that Gamespot author just on crack?

I think the plague that they're talking about is the Blight. Read enough books and you'll learn more about it.

And CheG, you level by improving your skills. If you improve your major and minor skills by a total of 10 points, you gain one level. So just keep using your skills over and over again.
