multiple endings in Gothic I?

I've finished the game 3 times now each time joining a different camp. I want to start a new game to get a different ending as stated on the back of the box of the US version of the game that there're mutiple endings. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get a different ending if there is one at all? I'm thinking that if you kill Mordrag like Thorus wants you to and never set foot inside the new camp or have anything to do with them at all, you will not be betraying the old camp and possibly get different quests and ending? Tell me if i'm correct or not that'll save me a lot of time. Thanks

There are no different endings. Only different "campz".

Isn't that great?

yeah i figured there're no multiple endings since i haven't heard anything about it. i must be playing too much horror/adventure games like resident evil and silent hill where your actions can affect the outcome of the game. But have you ever tried what i said, at the very least you might get a new quest since theres a rogue camp not far from the old camp that isn't in any of the standard quests

If you think about it though, multiple endings in Gothic 1 wudnt really work :S

because your aim through all the game is to down the barrier, and you do so by doing what you HAVE to do...

i just thought that there might be a another way to bring down the barrier. Btw, its interesting how you end up betraying everyone in the colony.

Unfortunately you cannot avoid being with the New Camp later on. The bandits you mentioned are part of a quest which has been cut from the game for time/finacial reasons.
