They were lucky! Our local town center is far too rough for the timid likes of Bears, Beavers and Barbarians!
Actually, being a Badger it might not surprise you to know that I actually knew a Beaver who applied to join this forum. Yes I did.
Unfortunately he fell foul of the NFG's strict anti profanity policy. Every other sentence it was Dam this and Dam that!

@dteowner
yeah, i think i might join you guys in NWN multiplayer in the future. but for now, my schedule prevents that. and i actually find NWN more fun to build with rather than play. if i play, i'm often testing something. if i ever build something concrete I think it would be cool to have you guys as a sort of private beta testing team, even.

If you build it, we will come. We're always on the lookout for a good module to play. Based on the detail of your NWN posts, I'm guessing you'd supply us with just that. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Don't worry, Badger. Sidebar question asked, answered, and confirmed. End of sidebar.
And just to tweak you back...
SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. SQUASH mine. BOOM
Crud.

I've beaten it before, but then I just had to restart yet again... Just because you're a safe distance from your target doesn't mean you're a safe distance from the, ummm, extra action. I know that. Really, I do. I was just testing. Yeah, that's what it was.
Quick question- I recently stopped into a shipyard to do a little window shopping. Each ship type had 3 choices: S, M, and L. Looking at the stat sheet, I can find no difference between them other than the price. What am I overlooking, oh wise one? _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Lemme guess the proper response is:
SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours. SQUASH yours.

Bad joke, Lintra. And besides, if we're going to be precise, my little ship was pretty well shredded, not squashed. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Figured out the answer- there's different caliber of shields on each type.
Took me a while to remember how to switch things from ship to ship (open the freight doors on one, will put a new option on one of the menus), but I finally found it again. I'm in the first money-making phase of the story again. I sold the "freebie" Mercury and bought a new one (didn't notice the terrible max speed was because the hull was horribly damaged until it was too late). Dolled it up real pretty, and I'm flying it first-hand making some bucks. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Because I didn't think to strip the loaner (just not the way I think) I've kept the merc and every penny I've earned so far has been sunk into it improving speed and cargo size. I haven't fixed the hull or bought shields. Is this poor strategy? Should I sell it anyway? Should I start again and strip the loaner? It's going to take ages before I make any real money. So far my max speed is 115km/h and my cargo space 650. I have 13000cr. I have mapped about 23 systems in my M5 and am looking for Brennan's Triumph (supposedly) though I haven't really tried to find it yet. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

I didn't strip the loaner either but if I was restarting now, I probably would. Having said that, I made most of my very early money doing taxi missions in the M5 Disco (I lost the Transporter to the Khaak while I was remote trading). *If* you're lucky you can find a guy doing a "factory tour" which can amount to over a million credits (if you do all 20 or 30 of them (?)). Anyway, even without that there's some good taxi missions. Then when I had some decent money I bought a transporter and started trading in that. The real secret was buying a jump drive for it so I could jump around - best cash ever.
Don't worry about shields, yet - you won't be doing any combat for a bit. Don't go too far on the cargo because the price increases exponentially. Do you know you can ask other ships for directions? Get within 8km, target them, press 'C' for Comms.
Captured five pirate Orinocco's and six transports this morning - very pleased. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |
