Sleeping at the start of the game - Rent a room?

Okay, I'm puzzled, how on earth do I rent a room to sleep in at the start of the game? I got pummelled by the wizard in the cave and waited around to spot out where Fargoth kept his stash, so now it's night. But I can't see to get the guy at the Trade shopee to rent me a room even though many folks say this is the place to get stuff and a room.

I can't believe I can't figure out what should be obvious!

I think I'll go and try that bed I saw in the Censor office earlier...

The information that you can rent a room at the shop is indeed incorrect. But i think there is a plugin available around here where this is fixed + some more new things for Seyda Neen

Hi Stuart

If you solve the murder of the Tax Collector in your starting town.. that indirectly gives you somewhere to sleep and to store loot. But I can say more more... because THEY are listening...

All the best

Badger.

Stuart, when you get to other towns you will be able to rent rooms in Tradehouses. Unfortunately this is not true in Sedya Neen. There are several options available however. Do you remember spotting a bedroll in the Customs and Excise building (or whatever it was called)? Try using your spacebar on it. Also, while sleeping on a park bench is prohibited in town, if you go just a little ways out of town you can sleep under the stars all you wish. Just walk down the road until a new area is loaded (Bitter Coast region), find a likely spot to curl up and hit the rest key (default is T).

I just unlocked the larger of the two houses across the street from the Inn.
I paid a fine of about 10 gold pieces and after that it's all mine.

I sleep there when ever I am in the area and store all my extra stuff in the containers there.

It is easy to get to because of the Strider Service.

My teleport spot is in front of the mages and fighters guild in Balmora.
