I am lvl 20 in ch 2 in the VOM.
I have 90 base strength + a 15 bonus with a ring = 105 str.
I have 10dex, but i have three unused permanent dex potions of +5 dex
I have 10 mana.
I have 41LPs (or 31, i forgot if got the last lvlup or skipped it by loading an old save because of something i did wrong)
i learned to brew some basic potion (i think the small healing potion)
I can take skins off of animals.
I'm a merc.
I have 60% in 2Handed and i think 30% with 1Handed.
Now, i would like everyone's advice on what to learn next, i got picklocking too.
(can't get pickpocketing as i killed that bandit in the sewers)
Should i learn sneak?
What else? |

Way too low DEX, if you ever plan to use also ranged weapons - and why one wouldn't use those, train either bow or crossbow. Not even these 3 potions will help you much with the DEX. Skills low too, Cord can train them up, although for starters they'll be enough. Basic potions are useless in a way, since you find them enough in the game as it is. Permanent ones are important potions.
Basically, the amount of LP's what you have is quite little, and would be spent before you even notice  Don't need much for start where you're at for now, but later will be more useful.
But, frankly, get the add-on and the english mod and you'll never say again that you have too many LP's, you wont even think like that anymore

Yea with the addon you will neaver face this kind of problem with lp!
BTW even the addon is simple:I've killed raven with out to much truble BEFORE going in the VOM(in ch2).
Now I've the BELIAR'S CLAW and even killing a couple of orc is easy!.
I'm on lv 22 with 80 str 30 dex 50 mana(raised all by bonuses!) 38%1h 38%2h 20 bow(bonuses) 36% xbow...
The only problem with tnotr is that I don't think you will ever reach 200 str ,the maximum.
If I'm wrong let me know! |

yup if u recive beliars Claw the game will be easy pie the bonus damage + the high damage will do the work u just run and swing and recive those LPs and exp |

you can raise your strenght to 200 with erol or with bennet in Island if you take him with you into ship... but LP's goes fast if you want to train it so far.... costs 4LP's /1Str point in the end ....dex can be raised to 200 with diego....with addon ofcourse

So you guys are telling me it's best to raise dex and bow or xbow skill???
Not go for forging, alchemy, or hunting skills?? |

If you want something ranged, just raise your mana and use spell scrolls. Spells never miss (when you're in range), arrows will (certainly with low skill in bow/crossbow).
Alchemy is very handy too, but just learn the skill untill you can make the permanent potions you want. Start making (and drinking) permanent potions when you can't raise your attribute in any way, when you've reach the maximum trainers will teach you.
Hunting skills are pretty useless, only if you want to become filfthy rich you'll need them. For a merc, learning "Take Shadowbeast horn" can be nice, you can sell the horns to Buster for money and exp in chapter 3.

skinning animals should be enough, i dont think youll need the other hunting skills
and bout that beliars claw, i always gave it to the water mages, cause selling my soul to beliar scared me  |

That's true but...I like big axes!
and most of them require 120 140 160 str in the addon! |

with merc I would train dex/xbow skill. but mana too. that much so you can use large fireball or large fire storm. ice golems are easy then. don't have to dodge their ice block... in dragon hunt chapter I would use some LP's to train 2H to 100% ..there it's possible.. well ..lee said something of teaching but it'll cost... don't remember in wich chapter
in my opinion fastest way to kill dragons is big sword and high skill of using it...

STR is VERY important, simply because when you do a critical hit, the STR fully gets added to your weapon damage, and thus your total damage will be very nice, i.e. if STR is 100, and weapon damage is 60, and you score a critical hit, then the damage done will be 160. At maximum skill, every hit is considered as a critical hit. Thats the reason you need STR as high as possible, because it, simply, directly increases the damage you do in melee combat. So, yes, 100 STR is nice, but 200 is even better
