Thief guild bug..sleeping bug?

I joined the thief's guild by completing the two tests. Rob inducted me. It's now a lot later in the game and I'm trying to find Penumbra. When I talk to him all I get is a choice to say Farewell or "Patience. Give me a little time." As though I never picked the door to get the ale. Happen to anyone else?

Also, I rented a house in Verdistis and I can't sleep in the bed. It always says "No is not the time to sleep!"

I went back to Aleroth and I can still sleep in the bed from the beginning of the game (in Joram's) but that's it. I can't sleep in the Ducal Inn if I rent a room either.

Have these things happened to anyone else??

Don't worry, go into the actual thieves guild in the Inn's basement. You should be able to enter it now. Go all the way to the back and speak to the guard. He'll leave to go to the bathroom, then you can free Penumbra.

Weird, I never had that problem. Can you sleep on haystacks?
