I have a SB Audigy and it's now set on DS HW and surround speakers and the sounds are amazing. I can hear them coming from all angles. The kids even duck when they hear an orc coming up behind them!! Best game in LONG time that actually immerses you into the game.
Actually, Gothic has the same video and audio qualities of EverQuest. I'm not sure why some gaming mags say it wasn't as great as other games. Try running through the forest at night and watch the leaves fall!! Can't see that in EQ!! |

ok The 3D surround sound works fine. THats actually hillarious when you hear a muffled voice saying "COWARD! Come back!"
The Environmental sound just doesnt work whe nyou enter areas that would call for an echo or something.
Its a real treat for those who own a surround sound system. I'm not getting paid to say this!

I too have an audigy but what is DS HW? What do you have your environmental sounds set to? Mine are at EAX-normal effects and I wonder if that is the best choice for games. |
