HELP Flickering Characters

Hello all.

Well, I've finally got Gothic2 up and running on my new PC and despite loving it theres quite a bad glitch with flickering characters and objects. I've seen references to this in other posts, but the solutions given there about setting the radeon hack to 1 and something else to 1 which I can't remember dont seem to work.
My system is AMD 2.6
Radeon 9700 PRO
1 Gig Memory
A7N8X Delux Motherboard

Somebody please help! I don't think I'm using the latest drivers for the graphics card (I used the ones I got with it on a CD) and am trying the latest ones tonight. Is there any help people can give me??

I also noticed in my INI file that the GEFORCE hack was set to 1. Should this be so with a Radeon card?
