Well, we now have 50% of the voters saying the paladins will win and 50% saying the mercenaries will win. It's going the right way. At first it seemed everybody was going to vote for the paladins. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Actually, those that are saying the Paladins would win are forgetting that a large number of them could be cut off from the rest of the city. Especially if the attack were made in ch 5. The upper quarter has only one entrance. With the right resources (ie if gunpowder really works here), that entance could be blocked isolating all but a few guards from that side of town. If the mercenaries could take the garrison, (which I think is likely), the paladins from the harbor could be kept at bay by archers. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.

To Mercenary :
It seems that I am unable to convince to you that the Paladins would win against the mercs. And I must say that your purposefulness (I hope its the right word) and stubbornness is admirable. You are the first person in years who I couldn't convince to chance his opinions. But neither could you. I still belive 150% that the Paladins would win. But because I'm going to a vacation at 17.6.04 I cannot be here to discuss about this with you. But I didn't give up or give in. So let's call it a draw. And I might just as well add that you really should consider a political career. No one wouldn't dare to chalenge you to an argument . I won't be back until 24.6.04. So don't post any questions to me after given date. _________________ Life is short, games are long. Use cheats.

Well thanks. I am not really interested in politics. Gaming industry sounds much better too me. Draw sounds fine with me but I know if this discussion would be 10 pages long i still woudn't give up ...

Mercenary grabs his sword and jabs NeoCodex's stomach. NeoCodex dies in instant. Then he orders one of the lowered rank Mercenaries to bite him. And so he did.
"Here you go."

Why would you care? It's just my opinion about the whole thing. I'm for the paladins and that's it. I won't argue about that.
But let me tell you something... There was no description about how would the battle between pals and mercs look like. open field or assault on city? day or night? siege engines or not? would the paladins intervene quick enough to stop the mercenaries from entering the city? There is nowhere written how the attack would look like and you were changing the situation all the time to the mercenaries cause.
The question is, who would win, in fact; who is better. Tell me if I'm wrong. Or is the poll about the attack on the city? Anyway, I don't have to think long as I see such question, who would win.. paladins, of course.. They have better armor, better weapons and considerably more training. I think most of you guys underestimate them.
So my opinion is that in open field, in numbers 1:1 mercenaries don't stand a slightest chance. You HAVE to agree with that.
But it's different if mercs do a sneak attack on the city, they might win but it's not necesary. it's harder to defend of a surprise attack. |

Listen. My upper post was a joke. I didn't mean to offend you. I still think that Mercs would win no matter what and I'm not really in the mod too open another long discussion about it. I know sometimes I can change some things to the side that I like and probably it was so here too. But I respect other people's opinion but sometimes I simply like to see more people say what I say. (Let's just say I like to be on winning side, while defeat won't kill me either. ) _________________

Mercenaries and Paladins are not een in the same league: it should be Mercenaries vs. Guards or Dragon Hunters vs. Paladins. Furthermore, Paladins have better armours and they use runes. Dispite that, i voted for mercenaries cause if that happenned in my game i'd help the mercenaries and i'd kick some Paladin ass! |

True. I would also like to be on the mercenaries side, I was only saying that paladins are to powerful for them. |
