Tyrannt RPG Game Engine - Latest Updates |
|
First of all, my especial thanks to Tyrannt's indefatigable Jason Dean for passing along these latest updates to his highly intriguing and interesting project, the Tyrannt RPG Gaming Engine.

So, without further ado, let me first quote from Jason's e-mail...

Thought I'd post and let you know I've done quite a bit of work on this engine. I've now got someone helping with the graphics so it looking a lot better than it did .
>
> The website is here. Another thing I've started
up is a development forum which allows people to post bugs, ask questions and make suggestions. The forum is reachable from the above web site.

Additionally, you may want to peruse such items as the beginnings of their "Beastiary", or perhaps you may wish to check out their Mythology - I'm sure everyone would be interested in their downloadable demo with screenshots. Enjoy!! |

The website seems to be taking quite a hit at the moment. Sorry about the problems.

Overall, i like the look. Seems like a pretty nifty game engine. The only thing to criticize is the combat screen with the graph paperish graphics instead of something more visual. Might be a turnoff to anyone who got into gaming post 1990. |

Thanks for the comment. The combat screen is in it's early stages of visual development at the moment. There is still quite a bit of work to be done such as add a 3d element into the combat screen i.e. turn the 2d grid into a 3d grid and use models for the characters. I'm also planning on making the maze 3d view more rich with models etc. (My draft plan for the maze design tools are Here)
One of the reasons for posting here is to get some feedback on how people would like to see the engine progress as it is an ongoing development.
The engine is going to be free for people to use and develop their own games in. Me and David would welcome help from people interested in contributing to the engine. There is a forum for people to post into if you want to get involved in the engine.
