Bethesda surely has better numbers, for example NPD sales statistics, which made the license look like a good investment.
Not to mention the good reputation of the series. Since the last outing is 7 years old there is a whole new generation of gamers who has only heard that the Fallout series is good. That's a lot of free publicity. The fans of FO:BOS will probably be disappointed though. I see that as a bonus |

Partly, but probably more from the less extreme fans and the positive reviews. |

AFAICS most of the less extreme fans merely acquiesce more easily, lets take Tycho for instance ... you wont find him lambasting Bethesda, but we all know they arent making the game he would have rather have played.
Well I didnt like Morrowind, and I dont feel like acquiescing ... Bethesda has an alternative, they didnt need to have prevented any chance of a Fallout3 which build on the gameplay present in the previous games instead of just cherry picking isolated parts. Just start a different series, even if it is in the Fallout universe and is associated with it by name they can keep the door open for a Fallout3 in the future which is more like the originals.
They are choosing to make a Fallout3 which dashes the final few hopes Van Buren build up for a lot of us, and for no good reason. |

Well, I very much like Bethesdas games, and so I am much more exited by a Fallout 3 made by Bethesda than I ever was about the Van Buren Project. So I at least, am happy |

I would like to thank the Bethesda fans that are posting obscene pics at NMA and threatening and harrassing the creator of the "Make a Traditional Fallout" petition through messenger. It`s good to know who the real stupid fanatics are.

There are stupid people everywhere. I am sure these people don't represent the Bethesda fans as a whole just as the annoying flamers doesn't represent the Black Isle community. I like the works of both companies, so I'm not picking sides here. |

Exactly , that`s why i said "a group". I`m not entering the generalizations that are so fashionable against Fallout fans in many places. And people from the RPGDot staff knows who i am, i wouldn`t post if i didn`t knew that.
By the way thanks for the Something Awfull forum users that made DOS attacks against NMA, and are registering to cause trouble, we know how to deal with you. |
