How do certain signs work?

Ok, another question: How do some of the signs work? Like Shadow - ok, you can turn invisible once a day, but for how long? One minute, 5, an hour? And what about Voice of the Emperor? It says 25 to 50 points, I think, for 30 seconds. What the heck does that mean? I tried it on a merchant and he went to 100 in personality, but it definitely lasted a lot longer than 30 seconds. Anyone know? And what of the Redguard special ability where attibutes are boosted? How long does it last and does it boost all of them or do you have to choose which one?

The shadow thing works in 60 seconds. At least that is what it stands. I haveŽnt tried it yet though.
