Is your question Gothic related? If so, I'll move it there.

Using the Oblivion scroll is perfectly acceptable. It was put in the game for one purpose: to all you to be a jerk and get away with it. It's kinda cheap to use it, be it isn't cheating or exploiting the game.

However, using bugs in the game to make it easier to kill certain things is definitely an exploit. However, it's not serious. It's different than cheating. Almost everyone will do it if they get a chance, including me. When you exploit a bug, it's not that same as actively cheating, even if it is a little cheap. No one's going to look down on you because of it, even purist gamers.

I sometimes will even actively cheat in minor ways in games. If I'm, say, 100 gold short of buying something, I might cheat to get 100 gold. However, the next 100 gold I pick up I would just throw away. So that way, it wouldn't exactly be ethical, but in the end it won't really ruin the gaming experience. When you take the challenge out of a game, it usually ruins the fun. If you started gothic at level 40 with heavy paladin armor and every spell and maxed stats, it'd be pretty boring. I don't see why people cheat like that ...

these things have mentioned about a hundred times in the forums.
but anyway:
using the oblivion scroll isn't a bug, it is made to let people foget things.
about the ram, it is a little bug, and it is very handy when you aren't that strong.

My current Gothic 2 char is a loyal servant to the King and wouldn't dream of stealing or using shortcuts.

Roleplay isn't always easy but it's rewarding.

Everything you do in the game is all right to you, Leustenia.

Remember, it is you who are playing the game, so just enjoy you own way. (If someone always play as a 'good' one and do not try something 'not good', hehe...., it's boring.)
