Oh, that wasn't embarrassing. Nothing compared to real embarrassing moments, anyways. That was just a demonstration that deep down we're all still simian... I dare anyone to find me a person or creature on earth that would sit there calmly if something wet and cold attached itself to their face in a potentially dangerous environment.

movie:the Ecxorchist.....hhmmm....the most terrifing game I ever played was Silent Hill2

Scariest movie I saw was The Shining with Jack Nicholson, saw it at around age 10 at a friends house on a big t.v. on hbo late at night. Had terrible nightmares and trouble sleeping for years afterwards.  What a fool I was to watch a movie like that at that age...

Scary movies have a lot to do with your age at the time when you saw the movie. The scariest movie for me was War of the Worlds staring Gene Barry. I was about nine years old when that movie came out. I closed my eyes a couple of times when the people got zapped with the green ray. |

I can't say that I've ever been truly scared by a movie (I guess I don't have a strong enough imagination), but there are a few that made me feel a little uneasy. The original "The Evil Dead" was very eerie; the sequels are just spoofs and more or less comedies than horror films. A more recent film that made me feel a little unsettled is a German film called "Funny Games". I recommend that one to anyone looking for something a bit twisted.

 I don't ther is a movie on these earth that scares me exept for them dame chick flicks. No poun intend to any of the ladies in the house. I am just a simple farm boy and have seen alot of scary crap in my life. |

Only one movie ever scared me, The Shining. I was about nine or ten years old when I first saw it. About mid-summer I was up at 4 AM (always been a heavy insomniac) watching it alone in my room. At about the part when Nicholson was going insane and attacking everyone I got up to get something to drink. As long as I live I'll never forget this, I was just turning the corner into the hallway when I ran face first into my father, who is an exact copy of Jack Nicholson. He even had the crazy hair and being woken up at 4 AM, an extremely pissed off look on his face. I just collapsed like a cheap building and have not been able to watch the movie since.  |

Yeah, I think I'd have to go for the Shining as "most scary" for me too - scared me silly when I was a kid, and I still find the direction brilliantly creepy. From more recent films, I thought Ringu 2 was quite scary (moreso than the first, but that's probably because I saw the sequel first ), and I thought the American remake was scare-free. And on first viewing, I found Audition quite terrifying, but it had nowhere near the same impact 2nd time around.
I also thought Mulholland Drive had some brilliantly scary/disturbing moments. |

The Shining would be it, but a movie can't really scare me.(runner up: Hellraiser 2) Books however can or should I say could. IT -> Stephen King book I read at late hours when I was 12~13 years old.
As it comes to see grose things in movies, I would give a top 3:
1. Reservoir Dogs: cutting of the ear
2. Robocop: Shooting of the hand of Axel Murphy
3. American History X: Black man's skull splattered on the sidesteps
But the most terrifying I saw on the 7o'clock news: In Congo(Zaïre) a copple of guys take up one guy screaming for his life, they throw him of a bridge over a river and then shoot him. During that they smiled the whole time like it was natural to do sth like that.

I think that there is no scary movie at all, cus most of them( or all of them) isn't scary BUT Disgusting!

@piln: Oh yes, Mulholland Drive turned out to be my favorite 2003 movie (I saw it on TV then); I thought it was - for some unfathomable reason - pretty eerie.
