Anyone here like the Discworld Novels?

Im quite a fan of them myself ... have 23 of the 27 discworld novels ... I enjoy the cartoony comedic outlook on a fantasy realm ... and by far pratchetts discworld is by far the looniest of them...
Care to elaborate anyone?

I've only read three or four of the Discworld books, but I think they're a lot of fun. My favorite character, by far, is Rincewind's luggage, followed by Cohen the Barbarian. The most recent Discworld book I read was The Last Hero, a story about Cohen with many gorgeous illustrations.

If you like Discworld, I would also recommend the MythAdventure series by Robert Asprin. Hilarious stuff.

@ Davo

my favorite character's have to be from the book "The truth" I belive...
they include All together Andrews, and I cant remember the name of the chap but when he cusses it blanks out the word and leaves the ING
example: ----ing (for f*cking) a funny little detail...

and Yes Rinewind and his luggage are the main reasons I started reading the series! Hilarious little chest it is! with its dozens of legs running around.

Another Favorite is Death's apprentice Mort, or Mortimer... that guy gets into too much trouble! I would have never given him a scythe

Yip, I am a serious fan -> I have or have read most of the 28? books.
My favorite chrarachter so far is Nanny Ogg, undoubtedly she rules them all! next comes Lady Margolota (from the 5th Elephant) and Angua (she is so cute! with that boyfriend of hers!). But I like all the rest non the least.

I used to read loads of them, but got a bit sick when I read the same jokes too many times (the one about standing atop a mountain in a thunderstorm in a suit of copper armour shouting "all gods are b******s" popped up in at least two books). Having said that, they were damn funny jokes, and I really did enjoy the books.

Favourites were any featuring the 3 witches (Wyrd Sisters was brilliant... think I read one other where they were central, but can't remember the name), Reaper Man and Moving Pictures. Dibbler's attempt at subliminal advertising is one of the funniest things I've ever read.

Anyone try Good Omens, by TP and Sandman author Neil Gaiman? Really funny (and dark), and a good story, and I hear it's being brought to the big screen by Terry Gilliam, albeit with a changed ending (which sounds perfect, as that was the weakest part of the book). You can never tell what's going to happen with Gilliam, I just hope it comes true.

I didn't get Last Hero yet and I'm saving Night Watch, but I've read all the rest. My wife grumbles every time I read one because if I manage not to laugh out loud, I end up shaking the bed trying to keep it in.

I think Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler would be my favorite character, although the folks at Unseen University are always a hoot.
