Another unfinished SOE product

Every post I've een from the beta testers say the game has large potential but is being released waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early just so SOE can cash in on the Xmas rush. What else is new with them? Why people continue to give them money for their crappy products is beyond me. There's no accounting for poor taste I suppose.

Hmm... I'm in beta and I would say it's basically ready for release. There are still a few disturbing issues like players turning invulnerable in the PvP zones which is kinda scary but they still got four days to fix those critical bugs.
A poll at the beta forums also resulted in most people voting for 'yes it's ready'.
However, it's being released with just about zero content for pilots. The pilot career is quest-based but once you are a master pilot there will be nothing to do except blowing up random NPC ships for loot and/or going to the PvP zones for some PvP action. There's no such thing as themeparks in space or any special missions etc.
SOE knows that though and they have said themselves that they are just releasing the foundation for future content. We can only hope that they will add interesting content faster and more frequently than they have done with the ground-based game.
