You program your OWN GOTHIC II game using the Commodore 64 BASIC language skills you learned in 1984. Of course, it took a bit of technical know-how to upgrade the C64 to a 3 gig CPU with 1 gig of ram and a ATI Radeon 9800 pro crammed in that little brown plastic case!

Arx Fatalis is an awesome Dungeon Crawler like Ultima Underground. It has the look of the Thief games. Classic stuff. Have you tried the Morrowind addon Tribunal?

by the way, is Ultima 9 Ascension worth bothering with?

yeah, i was interested in Ultima 9...Thing is, alot of reviews say its a farce. "Gothic wannabe" i think i would enjoy a Gothic wannabe game but Ultima is not like Gothic too much. it has no Guilds and has the same engine as Gothic but it doesnt live up to its name, so no i would say its not worth bothering with.

U9 is pretty similar to Gothic. If you can get it cheap itīs worth a look. I liked it. But even with the fan made patches itīs a matter of taste.

I looked on ebay and U9 was selling for abut $10. But it just doesn't look like it's worthy to sit on my shelf beside Gothic, Morrowind and Arx Fatalis. Just a matter of time before Gothic II is being installed on my PC!
