I need help!!! Image isn't comin up

AAAAAAAAArrrgh. I just bought Gothic(the first one) as before getting the second game. I can install it with no problem and the opening movies work fine, but when is tranfers from cut scene to game play all i get is a muddy screen! I can still here Deogo or what ever his name is so sound is not an issue, but i can't see anything, nor could i find the gothic.ini. I running Windows XP, with a Pentium 4 2.40 GHz, a Sound Blaster 16, and a GeForce 4 4600. I've tried runnin it in windows 98 and 2000 compadibility mode, even increasing the virtual memory to 800. I'm stumped and at this point any help will be gladly excepted.

This is a driver problem. The gothic.ini is in Gothic/system. Search it for the word 'fog' and change that option to suppress the fog.

Another option is toggleing 'FogTableEmulation' in your graphics driver.
