Getting the list from Ian |
|
After five months, I am now starting another game of Gothic, except this time playing more as a mage. I remember most of the quests from the first time through but I think I may be missing something in getting the list from Ian. I, of course, talked to Diego and his Test shows up in my quest list but Ian just tells me to get lost. What did I forget to do? |

Diego first needs to tell you that you need to say to Ian: "Because you're going to say that Diego sent you" (or something like that). Did he tell you that? _________________ =Farseer=
Things are neither completely bright nor dark.
Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

He must have talked to Diego already, since he has it on his quest list.
Could be a bug. |

He overlooked the 2nd dialog option when talking to Diego, compare Moonslash´s post. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

That's exactly what it was, thanks guys. I had overlooked one extra bit of dialog with Diego.
FWIW, I know that Gothic's replay value has been much discussed but I have found that it goes by much faster than the first time because you really don't have to talk to EVERYONE. For example, the initial venture into the Mine, I only needed to do two things: get the bow and get the list. I remember spending days the first time in the Mine but now can just do the critical things. |

Another difference is that you know how the ressources and the battles are spread. The 2nd run is more relaxed. Use transformation scrolls, explore all lakes and mountains as lurker or bloodfly,... _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Yeah... and you skip thru all the long talks... and oops, you missed out a thing or two, like the second part of Diego's speech.
Happened to meee tooo.
I managed to halve the time I finished it though. |
