How do you sleep or rest in Gothic, or what do you do during the night in camp? _________________ Corum Incarnate |

Find your hut and use the bed.
You can travel at night, although itīs more dangerous. Or rob the smithy, manage your inventory, read the books you found ... _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

How do I use bed? Control up arrow on it?
Can I use a bed in any hut that is empty, including one outside of camp?
The manual for this game is really bad and so far not too impressed with controls. After playing Morrowind, it takes a lot to impress me. I tried Neverwinter Nights and dumped it after 3 hours. Lousy story and game senarios.
I appreciate your response. Thanks _________________ Corum Incarnate |

Correct. Now you know all the controls except melee combat and trading.
Okay, you sometimes have to open the inventory before you press (ctrl or LMB) + up, but this combination does more or less everything in the game.

You can get your own hut in Old Camp and New Camp. Maybe you can sleep somewhere else in the Swamp Camp. I donīt remember.
Some named NPC will tell you which hut you can take.
You can find your huts on my maps on GothicDot.

Agreed. Forget about the manual and download JemyMīs FAQ from GothicDot. And donīt read the walkthrough ...
Especially the combat tutorial and the controls chapter are worth reading.

Youīll get used to them, the controls arenīt half as bad as they seem. After a while youīll appreciate that they donīt waste your time with useless mouseclicks.
The readme suggests to use secondary controls if youīre right-handed.

Youīre welcome.
A short warning:
Gothic still has a few bugs. You should save in different slots to be prepared for savegame corruption when you enter dungeons or mines (chance less than 1%). Also donīt enter obviously prohibited areas, like castles with a closed gate, to avoid the winch bug. Some winches (meant to open/close a gate) only work exactly once. This bug is harmless but will cost you a minute to fix with a console command. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

In the Swamp Camp, after you've gained the Baals' trust and Cor Kalom has ordered you to go see Y'Berion, you can sleep in HIS bed and don't forget to loot Y'Berion's chests |

You get your own hut in Sect camp. It's directly ahead from Kalom's lab, next to his assistant's. But don't bother with that hut, it's so hard to get to. Just use the one next to Fortuno, the weed seller who give free weed, 3 a day!
You can use any bed, so long as no one objects... or even if you can get to it and sleep BEFORE they can object! No one will touch you when you're asleep. They're kind in that way. _________________ Erb Duchenne |

Wait...
Which hut are you talking about? The one next to Caine's? Or another one. _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."
