the merchants are not a guild, if you mean the town members, you can always become them combined with one of the three main guilds: Mages, Paladins, and mercenarys
there are three swords with the worw dragon in it : Dragon slicer, ore dragon slayer and heavy ore dragon slayer, but you can only have the last two by joining the mercs ( the best two) _________________ One blade good, two blade better |

It appears you haven't played G1. Don't worry about how to get this sword because you will eventually come across what you need at given points in the game. Choosing to be a Mercenary, not merchant or Paladin doesn't matter. This is the best thing about the Gothic series. Whatever you choose, you will always be the hero. There is no wrong choice. This is by far my all time favorite game. It is worth going back and purchasing G1. You will appreciate G2 so much more. It incorporates the G1 land within VoM. Truely awesome. |

For the dragon slayer as a paladin:At a certain chapter in Gothic2 you wiil get a task from the woman inside the hotel at the city of Khorinis. The tasks is to get her some papers from the chartographer who is at the harbor district. His name is Brahim I think. If you get the papers from him, open them and you will find among others an Old Map.On the Old Map is marked a hidden location. There is the Sword.Enjoy. _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |

If I remember the dragon slayer was in a cave guarded by the shadow warriors amoung other things. I think it is in one somewhere near Onars farm, or up toward the black troll area. I wish I could remember, but you really need to wait to get it until you are high enough level to kill the stuff guarding it. If you have not picked a guild, than relax, play the game, save before entering a cave, and just search and grow. You will find it in your travels. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

That was Dragon Slicer. But you're right. Take your time. Don't rush. You won't get it til ch 5 anyway. Start out as Mercenary and everything will turn out ok. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.

Your're right JM. My bad. I got the Orc slayer and dragon slicer names mixed up. It is slicer in the cave. But it is great weapon until the slayer is found. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=
