Well I was checking out the current price of Gothic, and to make a long story short I ended up over at Xicat's webpage. There I learned that a Radeaon Patch for Gothic has been released? I looked through the special files section here but no luck. Where do I get this?

Gothic 1 will not play on my ATI Radeaon 9600 pro (not that old!) unless I use the patch. It is a black screen.
The patch fixes it so it will work. It did not do that with my old Nvidia card.
Use the correct version, J is for the German and K is for the English. They will both install over any version, but it will not work. _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

There was a 1.08h version not for the English version, but for the German version. I remember that form back long time ago.
I guess it was H not J for German Gothic 1. Missed that one. Good catch _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

@Xerxes712,
That old info' is interesting, i thought it was j for English and k for German?
So then if it was as you say, then the 1.08j has been superceded into the current/latest 1.08k, - - wierd!
P.S Is not 1.08h German? _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

The German release versions were 1.06 something and 1.08j (budget).
English was 1.08j. This included of course all older German patches. There is no 1.08j patch. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

No, there is no other patch. Graphics card compatibility with Gothic 1 is hit or miss. Some fog problems can be corrected in the gothic.ini. A few graphical glitches in the distance are normal. Especially when looking down at the swamp. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
