It's still a good game!

As I stated in a previous thread, I will not be getting Gotic 2 until Christmas, so I have been playing various RPGs until now. I was playing Neverwinter Nights, but truthfully, the game is a little boring. I could not get into Arxfatalis, and I've had it up to here (motions above the head) with Morrowind for a while, and to me, Diablo is not a RPG. So I was searching through the closet (there doesn't appear to be any new RPG games on the market) and I came across Gothic and figured why not try it again. Well, I loaded it onto the computer and have played about an hour or two, and I would like to repeat: Gothic is a fun game. I forgot how huge the game was. All the little detail involved, the conversations in the background, little annoyances (like Mud), etc. I am only at the point in the game where I am just a grunt walking around trying to avoid paying protection money for as long as I can. I will probably play this game through again, because the game ROCKS. I hope I can remember where I found the infamous Nellik's Sword. Perhaps I'll search the boards for the location.

I just ordered Gothic 2 today from Amazon. I should get it in 4 or 5 days.

i have the game some time now... (since august or even before...) i live in the netherlands, so it is released here some time ago...

i must say, Gothic II isn't much better than the first. they are both the best games i even played, but Gothic is almost as good as Gothic II. only the grpahics are better.

Even if all I'm getting is the same game with better graphics, a bigger gameworld, and a different story I'll still be happy.

I share the opinions above, Gothic is the best RPG beside Morrowind!Gothic 2 is even better with the new options. I miss only 2 things: shields and two weapon fighting.
I wish you will have fun from xmas, when you get the game!
I have it since summer, but can't play with it, because it can't run on my system.

I love this game!

Celeron 2 600@900, 256 SD100, Gef4 MX440

I tried to run the game, but i had to turn the grapichs to the very minimum, and still it runs with low fps (about 1-15)

Gothic 1 rocks! I didn't play it until earlier this Fall when Val convinced me to try it out. I only had to wait a month for the second game. It was like a grand 7 course meal with all the trimmings!
