Yep, I also enjoyed the GKs. The second one was FMV, while the third had an interesting polygonal engine.
Rainstorm,
Omikron is a part Blade-Runner/part Tatooine action/detective story. With demons. And soul-exchanges. The plot's not bad... or at least there's a fair amount of it, and immersion in the game world is pretty good, as is atmosphere. It's a bit more linear then Gothic - you are free to explore the setting, but only one set of actions is the crucuial thing to be doing at that time. The game aims for a sleazy feel in some parts of the city - you can visit a peep show if you feel the need, and there are a few similar ideas. (There was also a nude patch. Damn, people are inventive.)
Something to note is that the exploration sections are interuupted by first-person-shooter type action sections, which many people didn't like. (No mid mission save), There were also 3rd person martial arts type battles. Neither of these occur willy-nilly. They fit in at scripted points in the game.
Um, what else. Without spoilers, that's about it. It ran fine on my Celeron 500, was bug-free (I think) and was my game of the year that year. If you don't like it, well, we have differing tastes
A.
Oh, and there's a demo. Why not try that...
