Umpani - Cant get over doorstep

Well game has been running nice enough for me... only one thing so far... In Umpani Base Camp, I cant get over the doorsteps to the recruitment or tavern (the two buildings rright infron of eachother) My party just stops infront of the giant step and wont go in.... is this a common problem or is it just a bad install or something ?

What I would do is reload a save and try again. Go in a different directon before attempting the door. Check for the latest patch, put the saves folder on a backup cdr or other spot on your computer and reinstall the game if no luck. Video drivers have a big effect also, I had to go to Nvidia 30.82 from 40's to stop game crashes. Other than clipping issues, runs OK. There is a technical forum somewhere, may help.Cheers!

2 thoughts:
1) Back up and take a "running start" at it.
2) Otter & I have discussed a collision detection bug (in connection with "the lifts of death") caused by timing problems from low memory, slow processor, etc. Assuming that you're not planning to upgrade your machine, the solution may be to save the game near the steps, shut down your computer and restart the game immediately before Windows mucks up your memory too badly.

Welcome aBoard, CatZ!
Yah, there are some wierd sticky spots in the game; there's a door in Trynnton that i have trouble with, and there's not even a step up to it!
There're a few other places where you can't get up a step if you start right next to it, or approach at too steep an angle. A couple steps straight back from the door, and you should be able to walk right in. Just watch out for all those "friendlies" shoving you around...

Well my system is as follows:
Abit AT7 MAX
Athlon 1800xp
MSI Starforce (Geforce4 TI4600) @ NVIDIA 41.03 drivers
512MB ddr333 RAM
2x40GB Maxtor ATA133 7200rpm @ raid 0

I noticed the following... I run the game in 1600*1200@32bit and all setting on the nicest, just as I load a saved game the game is "jerky" since the saved game is loaded much faster than the graphix. Sometimes this enables me to warp over the edge to recruitment center, but I sure as *censored* cant get in the building right across the road.

I got so frustrated I went up to Ascension Peak and took a fight worth 100k experience My lvl 12 guys really enjoyed that fight hehe.

I get so pissed of at "no more updates EVER" also, I mean c'mon this game is by far the greatest rpg I ever played.... ok I played wizardry gold and that was also good but this game has the graphix and the voices and everything on top of that. You can go in any direction you want and still make the game, you can go in the right direction and still DONT make the game....

There is only one thing not to love about this game and that is the bugs, since there will be no more updates.. .
