Auto Assault: First Impressions @ IGN

IGN shares some first impressions of NetDevil's Auto Assault.
Although Auto Assault seemed to have about half a dozen separate beta phases, I really never got around to checking it out. After all, I already had World of Warcraft, and that was plenty neat already. And when I heard that AA was leaving people with the impression of "EverQuest in cars," I was that much less interested. But NetDevil listened to the community and decided to make some changes, and the end result appears to be somewhere in between "EverQuest in cars" and an MMO'd Interstate '76 that immediately leapt to mind the moment most people heard about the game. In the end, it has the combat mechanic of an action game but the backstory and context of an RPG. And despite what you may have heard, it can be pretty fun, especially if you're a fan of the old Carmageddon games.

I uninstalled it immeadiately after seeing "Go to the badlands (whatever) and collect 10 ball bearings."

Next.

P.S. Please innovate.
