Crystal Fab profits

My fab in Herons Neb is making bank as is my SPP in Red Light. You know you're making money if you draw all your stations down to say 150K then watch to see who makes money the fastest. I'll have to check out that economy article to see if it explains it a little better. I'm making a lot of money but need more of course for a large ship. Want a Split Dragon soon!

I have 27 factories and it doesn't bring in money fast enough

Still, if you travel a lot (using SETA of course) money just flows in nicely. Always be active yourself in X2, though... even your best performing factory can't top the income you can personally make in an hour doing BBS missions.

Or mining. I just started this last night, and well equipped miner with a couple of support ships can haul down a lot. As a rough guestimate, I would assume a good mining outfit will haul down between 200k to 500k per hour. IF you can find the markets for your goods. I might be over stating the case, as I haven't yet gotten the support ships I figure I'll need, but my first load of Silicon (Si) netted me just under 400k and had me cursing since I'd forgotten to max out the cargo capcity of my miner!

Warning to the uninitiated: Very few ships can handle the mining laser! I was really hoping the Dolphin could, as I like the Boron ships, and the hold is huge ... but no go.

My plan is to have two automated vacuum cleaners (Pun intended !!) following my miner (The 49er) around with the orders "Collect wares" active. When they get full, just send them off to the nearest market.

I am not sure how long I can keep this up, but my miner has already paid for itself in the first hour ... much better than any factory set up!!
