Does the new D&D game have a single player element?
I love RPGs but I'm personally not really interested in MMORPGs, and what I hate is there seems to be so many of them and so few good single player RPGs. I wouldn't mind if the MMORPGs contained single player campaigns. That would seem a modest thing to do once the main game was finished. Or maybe they could release them as addons, but a full size addon if you follow.
So what I'd like to know is am I totally alone in this? I'm I the lone single player guy who longs for the old days of Fallout and Baldur's gate? Does everyone feel single player is lame, dead and that it should stay dead?
And my original question... since I haven't bothered reading up about D&D Online because it is online, does it, by chance, have a single player component?
Many thanks.

You start as a singleplayer but then you must group with another players. If you want to play the quests like singleplayer then you should find a group of roleplayers who stay IC at all times.
Note that there is nothing but quests in D&D online and they are more kin to the singleplayer CRPG quests than your typical "get 5 ratskins"-mmog quests.
What D&D online offers is coming close to the pen&paper RP experience. If the other players stay IC.
