Replaying the game as a archer, any tips?

I finished the game for the 1st time as a dragon hunter practicing melee combat only and now I'm gonna play it again as a archer/thief type. So now I'm looking for tips and suggestions so I don't have to restart a couple times because I missed some thing the first time (like not learning alchemy and thus missing the strength potions, the trick with the orc warlord ring ) I want to get it right the first time

So I you like you have some tips don't be shy
