... i heard a familliar voice..
.
i just finished the game about 10 minutes ago but a few days ago i was playin Gothic and then took a break to eat. while flipping through the channels eatin me dinner, i turn to discovery and there's some show about sea creatures. and lo and behold, who's voice is narrating the program? none other than Milten from the game!!! i looked on the credits of both to confirm and sure enough, john sharian, the voice of Milten was narrating the discovery channel.. i guess i just thought it was funny

Yes, this sort of thing can be pretty funny.

But if you think about it for a second then itīs quite logical. These guys are professional voice actors, or more likely actors doing voice work until they get enough 'real' acting jobs.
Narrating a documentary for the discovery channel sounds like a relatively attractive job to me.

Yes, and its the same with Mud from the german t.v show. I wonder how many more "real voices" are hidden in G1 & G2 ? Seems like the german game writers prefer some of their voice selections from the media, and why not, familiarity breeds content.

Yeah, also the kiddy cartoon "Gargoyles" has one of the gargoyles voiced by Jeff Bennett, the same guy who voiced Kyle Katarn in the Jedi Knight games!

John Sharian was the English language version Milten? Hehe. He starred in Death Machine which still is one of my favorite B pictures.

A totally different game, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (the first one), has voice overs from John Rhys Davies. He played Gimli in the LOTR movies. He does a voice that is a lot like Gimli in the game.

I'm guessing his price tag has gone up a ton since those movies came out, and that we prolly won't be seeing him in games again anytime soon.
