gothic 1 controls for gothic 2. |
|
when i started playing this game i guess it was already set to gothic 1 style and thats just how i played but then i kept hearing people say "don't set it to gothic 1 controls there terible" so i tried in in g2 defalt and its TERIBLE! the gothic one controls are much more fluid, with the mouse i wouldn't fight mealee any other way. does anyone agree with me on this? _________________ "anybody want a peanut?"

Once you get used to it, G1 controls are great. |

Oh Yes,
If somebody was to start a new guild as say:-
"The totally dedicated Gothic keyboard players guild" then i would be the
first to apply. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

I had a friend who hadn't played G1. He tried the G1 control scheme but couldn't get used to the left-right-left-right timing. He switched back to G2 mode. I played G2 immediately after finishing G1. Since I'd played through all of G1 that way, it felt very natural and I felt much more in control. I did pick up on the G2 health and mana quick keys though. _________________ 9700Pro, AMD64 3200+, WinXP-Win98SE

I am brand new to the whole Gothic series and am starting Gothic 2 - loving the hell out of it by the way - but am not sure how to use the fighting system. I try using diff. button combinations but they dont seem to do anything different. Basically, how do u fight w/the Gothic I controls? _________________ Fear the midgets they call "Doughy" |

You can find an intro to the G1 controls in my G2 review. JemyM´s G1 FAQ has a long chapter about combat.
The basics are:
You keep the LMB pressed and puzzle together combos with the curosr keys. Depending on your stats and your own skill (--> timing) you´re more or less successful. Of course there´s a learning effect to it. What seems tough now will be a piece of cake on your second run through the game. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
