Hey hey..anyone following this game at all..I have been hearing bits and peices about it and recently got sent an IM from a friend saying to go to their website and watch this short film by Ridely Scott..twas a bit skeptical at first as i thought..short film-video game? eh?? but seriously, its really really cool. I would suggest going to to check it out for sure.

Nah, we're just lazy and wouldn't take the time to punch it up in Google.

Is this like a GTA clone?
The cars look nice.

Sorry...forgot about just posting the link.... thanks Val for putting it up there.
It is similar to GTA..same ideas, etc. Its been around for a while tho....first DRIVER came out I think in like 1999, but don't quote me on that.

The graphics released thus far in trailers and screenshots look pretty nice tho and I think GTA will have some fierce competition.....

check out a recent article over at IGN for more if you like:

I'll have to check the film out. I used to really like Ridley Scott, but he's been a bit rubbish lately. I went to the same college as him, hope I don't also go a bit rubbish later in life.

I hope the game is good, it certainly looks nice but last I heard the on-foot shooting bits were still really bad. Hope they can iron out the problems before release. @Pinnen, didn't play it myself, but I don't think you missed much with Driver 2. I hear it was a bit of a let-down.

Not really... Driver showed up before GTA has gone 3D.

But it would seem those in charge are responding to GTA3 & Vice City's popularity... Driver 3 will have a wide range of vehicles (boats, bikes, trucks, etc) and on-foot shooty bits (which they had in Driver 2, too).

I'm not accusing it of being a GTA-clone though. I think it will stay true to its roots, ie being a car-chase game inspired by movies like Bullit, French Connection, etc. The way the industry is right now, they have to be seen to be responding to their competitors, but I doubt their response will be a departure from the original game's strengths.

thats cool you went to the same school

so what did you think of the film..pretty nice...i can't wait for the game to come out.

and yes. it was before GTA. i think both have had a big influence on the developement of one another and the developement of car racing games.
