No text and Flickering Graphics |
|
Ok heres the problem, I just got Gothic and i installed it and put all the latest patches on (im up to 1.08k). When i start the game, everything is fine and dandy until i get the the game menu, all i see is the background of the menu, no text!
So i just press my mouse button and i magically appeared in the game. When you talk to Diego and your given the option of some different sayings... i cant see them, no text, at all.
I also get occasional screen/graphics flickering.
Here are my significant computer specs:
-AMD AthlonXP 3000+
-512mb DDR333 RAM
-AC' 97 6 channel audio with Nvidia SoundStorm
-Nvidia GeforceFX 5200 w/Forceware 56.72(probably the problem but i dont see why)
I tried looking on RPGDot and JoWood forums with search but i didnt find anything or i just didnt look hard enough. If you can help me, it would be greatly appreciated! |

I think the graphics card is the problem. NVidia invented something with the 5000 series Gothic 1 does not like. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I had a similar problem in another game. It was the graphics accelerator being too low. I had set it down for another game but needed it back up for the problem to go away in the second game. Just a thought. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

Why did you install the 1.08k patch? (for Ati Radeon problems) you have a Nvidia Graphics card. Is your game version 1.08j/k? _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

Installing the patch is always a good idea. It also updates the MSS. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I was just curious, i thought that patch was allready integrated into some versions (1.08j)?, also i found that some of the FX series were "choosey" about which driver version is installed, the 53.03 for example also would "greek" the text in windows menu's. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |
