Hi!!
I've got a T-Bird 1.0C, R8500(7.74), 256ram, WD 600BB, WinMe.
The game-version is 1.08k, I use FRAPS to show the fps. I can do what I
want, but the level goes not abot 20-25. What can I do??
Thx!!! |

20-25 FPS is about normal. Gothic uses a system where you will stay at a lower FPS rate until there are enough free resources to go higher for long periods of time. It does it so that the FPS doesn't suddenly drop when you look at a large, detailed object. You can test this if you look into a corner of a digger's hut. Your FPS will go up a lot, then when you look away, it will go back to normal. _________________ Make good choices. |

Welcome.
Gothic has an internal frame counter. You can find the console command in our cheat guide.
If Gothic also reports constantly above 20fps you could squeeze out some more eye candy. I doubt you have a big performance overhead, though.

This tells us you´re lacking cpu power (and maybe additionally another stick of RAM). _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Bingo.
So maybe you should ebay your mainboard + cpu + cooler + RAM and get a cheap AMD XP1800+ ... with 512MB DDR RAM in November. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Wait as long as possible and plan it thoroughly. Your stuff is worth ~30 liters of beer, there isn´t much to lose. The new parts will sink like a stone until November.
Is the GeForce 2 a GTS/Pro/Ti/Ultra or an MX? _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
