Dear Keldryn, i can assure you that 100% of die hard ultima fans, like me, are very happy. Your team can be proud of this major achievemant, really.
I suggest you one thing though: don't bother with the lonely moron that spit sentences without even knowing what we are talking about. After all is not his fault, i bet that he can barely count to five and he doesn't know what RPG means. |

Paul, you see what you did?
If you really didn't like Dungeon Siege 1, you shouldn't have posted in the first place, but not even trying a mod that completely changes the game... Heck, I am not a fan of Dungeon Siege 1 myself, yet I'm downloading this mod and I'm gonna try it, still hoping that it would change Dungeon Siege 1 experience by MUCH. But what did you do? You did nothing, including nothing.
You came here trolling, looking for attention: "I don't like Dungeon Siege 1, so I won't even try this mod because it must SUCK", that's what you're saying, basically. Ok, so let's say you DID try this mod and did not find it that good, you could have at least posted WHAT is wrong with the mod instead of coming here and looking for trouble. Criticism is not meant to troll, Criticism is meant to improve, and you certainly are a jerk. _________________ "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" -Edmund Burke. Thanks for casually dimissing our work without even giving it a try though. That's always very rewarding.
I've not done more than re-install my Mac DS, and install the Lazarus game and make sure it all works. But just browsing the manual shows how big an effort this is - it is truly amazing given how many 'remake on new engine' efforts peter out.
So don't take it to heart, that is just an uninformed minority opinion.

Just imagine Ultima 7 remade using the Oblivion engine... (assuming it ever comes out)
Their new AI system (as described) would be a perfect match, actually. The scripting engine would already allow for NPC day/night, work/eat/sleep cycles. |

well despites pauls simple whining of the game i have to say that they did a great job i just installed the game and palyed it for two hours and i must say that it looked really nice,
you can see that these people are real ultima fans
i am playing computergames for almost 18 years now and i am happy that there are still people there who are so very dedicating to a game when you see with how much love this game is made
the fact that there are people there who cannot appreciate this or never played games which sadly are not very common anymore is due to the fact that those people have no more interest in these games as to comply and whine over it without even play it
those people will never understand how difficult it is to make such games and to say that it is crap it means that he is putting his boot on those peopel s soul
in my opinion the team has made a very good job and i will be sure that it will stay for a long time on my computer |

In other words, this is what Dungeon Siege should have been.
Anyone heard anything from EA on this yet? |

Paul is the worst kind of person -- contributes nothing, and snipes at those who contribute something admirable. Pathetic.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that a negative comment is sacrilege. The game may in fact suck. I haven't downloaded it yet. And I never played the original, so it may be that I would have hated the original and will hate the new one too. But such dismissiveness as Paul displays is completely unproductive and uninformed. He might as well wave a flag and shout "look, I'm ignorant!"
If you're going to critique a labor of love, have the courtesy to do some research and put some facts or logic behind your statements. I prefer to hold my opinion until I actually try the game.

No, there's no multiplayer. But people are welcome to fiddle with it and try to make it work.
Hope people enjoy the project. |

Heh, I remember that. It appeared in the 'wonderful' Wired magazine, the writers of whom never bothered to get the other side of the story (because the major projects HAD all contacted EA. EA just never replied until after the article. And even then, the replies (to U1: A Legend is Reborn and U4: The Dawn of Virtue) were not 'You are not permitted to do this remake', but 'We will not give you permission'. ).
EA hasn't said anything to Team Lazarus. Richard Garriott actually told Tiberius not to worry about them--originally he was *only* going to release Lazarus if EA gave their approval, which of course changed after talking to RG. |

First I was born too late to play the original, and now My dungeon siege gives a critical error while installing terrain.whatever... I would be so unlucky if I didn't finally have NotR after waiting two years _________________ If you can't debate without namecalling then don't bother visiting us. -Myrthos |

You might find it in a bargain bin, since it's about 4 years old. It should also be available from several online suppliers. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!
