I'm playing through the Black Gate and I'm at the part in Skara Brae where i have to get the mayor to sacrifice himself to destroy the Well of Souls, however, the mayor keeps telling me i still have to ask Rowena. But whenever I talk to her she just says something like "Oh where has my husband gone? I can't live with out him" and then the conversation ends. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug, or what? |

Well, you have to talk with everyone on the island. Is there anyone else besides Rowena that you haven't talked to? _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I've talked to everyone else. I'm 100% positive she's the only one left. |

Weird. You even talked to the Ferryman?
Also, are you using Exult? I do know that this can be a bug when using Exult. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Yes and Yes. Is there a method to fix the bug or bypass the dialogue? |

Yup. Stand next to Trent when talking to Rowenna and next to her when talking to Trent. That seems to "fix" it.
If that doesn't work, then try this:
The solution to this is that Rowenna and Trent are standing too far apart. When you reunited the pair you initiated the conversation with Trent from too far away (this happens when you run at a higher resolution than the original one). Now you can either reload a game from before you reunited them or you have to hackmove Rowena closer to Trent. After that the two will talk to you about sacrifice. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! I'm playing Serpent isle nowand I'm on the Mad Mage's island. I got lost so I looked at a guide and it says I need to ask the Mad Made about the jawbone, however, the dialogue option doesnt show up when I talk to him. Does anyone know what the problem is? |

Talk to the lazy gollum looking servant named Vasel, he's usually sleeping on the cot, he'll blab about the jawbone then talk to Erstam the mad mage, don't forget to get Boydon together he's a fun party member despite his horrible smell. Personally SI is my favorite Ultima, probably because it was the first Ultima I played all the way through, now SI online would be awesome to me but I'm not gonna expect that anytime, the storyline though I found very well done, even standing alone despite that it was a sequel, it is a very good game, not as difficult as the Black Gate but compared to games today, it's 100x as difficult.
